A REVIEW ON DENDRIMERS: A NOVEL APPROACH

Abstract

Dendrimers are novel class of approach in polymers. They are monodisperse macromolecules having extensively branched 3D structure which provides a high degree of surface functionality and versatility. They are used for biological and drug-delivery applications because of their unique properties like uniform size, high degree of branching, water solubility, multivalency, well-defined molecular weight and available internal cavities. The aim of this review to describe about dendrimer synthesis strategies, types of dendrimers with different functionalities, properties which having crucial importance and their potential applications.
